Sifton Properties named Ontario Green Builder at the EQ Awards!

This year’s winners of the EnerQuality Awards have been announced! When it comes to energy efficiency, green building, and sustainability in the new home building industry, the EQ Awards is one of the most prestigious forms of recognition.
The finalists for the People’s Choice and Ontario Green Builder Award were Acorn Developments, Minto Group, Reid’s Heritage Homes, RND Construction Ltd, and Sifton Properties.
The winner of People’s Choice was Acorn Developments, and the Ontario Green Builder of the Year was Sifton Properties (Sifton also won the Green Marketing Campaign - Print award).
The other finalists didn’t walk away empty handed though. Minto won the ENERGY STAR for New Homes Builder of the Year - Large Volume, and Roya Khaleeli of Minto won the Leader of the Year Award.
Reid’s Heritage Homes kept the honour of Net Zero Builder award, and RND Construction Ltd won in the Building innovation - Low-Rise category. As leading builders on the energy efficiency front, it’s not surprising to see all the Ontario Green Builder finalists winning in other categories.
What’s special about the EQ Awards is that its value seems to increase every year. What do we mean by this? As climate change continues to impact our lives, and our lives continue to impact the planet, sustainable living is becoming more and more essential.
The whole industry needs to start thinking harder about how to decrease the environmental impact of our communities. Through innovation and new technology, the future of homebuilding is going to change and it will likely be green-focused.
Take a look at the winners of the EQ Awards; these are the builders that are building our homes and communities with a bright vision of the future in mind. With the dream of living sustainably in an energy efficient home becoming a higher priority for families, we believe that builders not embracing green approaches will eventually be left behind.
