3 springtime activities to do around Ten93 Queen West

Ten93 Queen West is in the heart of the neighbourhood

The sun has finally decided to poke its head out from behind the clouds, and the rest of the week and weekend are supposed to be sunny with temperatures staying in the double digits! You should take this opportunity to explore the incredible Queen West neighbourhood where Pemberton Group’s Ten93 Queen West condo is located.

Under construction at Dovercourt and Queen, Ten93 Queen West is surrounded by trendsetting bars, restaurants and cafes, fashion boutiques, art galleries, and antique, vintage and record stores. Listed below are three activities to get you acquainted with the vibrant Ten93 Queen West community.

1) Patio hop along Queen

Independent eateries pepper Queen West. In fact, a number of Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurants are just steps from this Pemberton condo location. The Commodore is a great spot for seafood lovers, and it won’t break the bank. Another restaurant on the list, Loka, is a unique exploration of fine Canadian cuisine.

When it comes to lounging out in the sun while enjoying a large share plate with friends, you will want to check out the Sky Yard, The Drake Hotel’s famous rooftop patio. Another local favourite is The Beaconsfield because their patio is open late and is shaded by a large, beautiful maple tree.

2) Hang out in Trinity Bellwoods Park

One of Toronto’s favourite parks is Trinity Bellwoods, thanks to the off-leash dog area, tennis courts, bike and walking paths, baseball diamonds, farmers market and seasonal events. Trinity Bellwoods stretches north from Queen to Dundas, and comprised of 14.6 hectares (37 acres), the entire park is usually full of people and pets!

It’s not uncommon to walk by and see groups of people picnicking, napping under the sun or the shade of a tree, or playing a game of fetch. Since this weekend is going to be the first string of sunny days we’ve had in a while, we bet a bunch of people are already making plans to meet up there.

3) Go digging on Record Store Day

Rotate This in Toronto Via the Rotate This Facebook page

April 16th is Record Store Day, a special day that is recognized internationally by vinyl collectors. Every year, participating record labels and artists release special edition pressings and fans from all over line up at their favourite record stores for their chance to get their hands on something like a super limited, rare Bob Dylan 7” or a repressing of a classic Bowie album.

It just so happens that one of Toronto’s oldest and most popular record stores, Rotate This, has relocated to Ossington, just north of Queen and south of Dundas. If you’ve been thinking of starting a record collection or if you already have a long list of must-haves for the big day, then take a stroll up Ossington on Saturday and see what Rotate This is carrying!
