Cloud9 Condos is 95% sold and nearing occupancy!

Earlier this year in March, we had the opportunity to visit Lash Group’s Cloud9 Condos in Etobicoke with Vice President of Construction, Serge Mazzuca. The condo was nearing completion at the time, so we met up with Mazzuca again to see how much progress they made over the summer.

The tour started on Esther Lorrie Drive where we got a good view of the ground level units that face the street. Mazzuca explained that the front entrances for these units are actually through the building, but the goal was to create a similar look of a low-rise home at street level. The ground level units have patio space and planters, which will be maintained by the condo board. An iron fence and a short walkway will separate the patios from the sidewalks. The iron fence has doors for each unit that lock, so residents can enter their homes from the street if they so please.

When we entered Cloud9 we went straight to the lobby. Mazzuca explained that the tile work in the lobby is almost complete and the millwork would be delivered this week (for the wood panelling on the walls and reception desk). The wavy, cloud-like lighting that will welcome all residents and visitors is almost complete, as well. Mazzuca said that all amenities/common areas on the ground level will be completed over the next month and ready for first occupancy by mid October. The amenities on the ground floor include a party room and theatre room with a kitchenette and closed off dining area.

After checking out the party room and theatre room, where we admired Tanner Hill’s ceiling accents, we headed to a completed unit. According to Mazzuca, all the units on the first four floors of Cloud9 are mostly finished and they’re simply touching up the paint job. The beautiful dark wood floors are installed, along with the kitchens, bathrooms, and windows. The wallpaper in the corridors will be done over the next week, as well as the interesting door frames, which resemble the wavy lighting we saw in the lobby.

The next stop on the tour was the rooftop, potentially our favourite part of Cloud9. When we were last on the rooftop in March, it was freezing cold, this time it started raining (pouring). Though the weather hasn’t been cooperative, it is pretty easy to see how amazing this rooftop is going to be. The fitness centre has incredible views with floor-to-ceiling windows and also overlooks the indoor pool, which is about four feet deep. The pool opens up to an outdoor terrace where there will be seating and other lounge areas.

Our favourite part of the rooftop is definitely the green roof on the other side of the fitness centre. When the green roof section is open, there will be a barbecue area, a patio tiled area for dining, and of course, there is a lot of green space. It will look just like a backyard, except it will be 12 storeys up in the air! The walkway on the green roof also serves as an emergency fire exit, so the tiles are heated, meaning there will never be snow or ice on it.

The final stop on the tour was underground where we checked in on the progress of the parking levels. There are three levels of parking at Cloud9, with visitor parking available. Mazzuca explained that first a waterproof membrane was applied to the flooring, then the traffic coating gives it grip, so it’s slip resistant and waterproof. We got to see what it looks like when the traffic coating is being applied.

Cloud9 Condos is 95% sold, so you need to act fast if you want to call this new Etobicoke condo home. As mentioned above, occupancy will commence in mid October, and full completion is scheduled for April 2016.
