Dig To Done B.streets Is At Grade!

It’s been a while since we headed out to Bloor and Bathurst to check out one of our favourite infill projects in Toronto – B.streets by Lindvest. Although we may not have been there, the construction team at B.streets certainly hasn’t taken a break.

The last time we visited B.streets was in early December; Project Manager Chris Hawkins and his team had started the concrete work, which is obviously key to any condominium building. Now weeks later, they have not only hit ground floor, but are starting the formation of the second floor.

Despite the progress, it has not been easy for the team at B.streets, as Mother Nature has not been kind to them.

“We had a great start to the process; however, snow, rain, and cold weather has really taken a hit out of our January progress. Since the beginning of the year, we have lost a total of nine days, all weather related,” Hawkins said. “With losing that time, we have lost some of that excess time that we made up in late 2012, but we expected that. We are right on schedule.”

Hawkins continued: “As of today, material should be arriving to start the form work for the second floor, which is good. We are hoping to start work on that by next week.”

Hawkins expects that concrete will continue to be the theme for the next three to four months.

“We are still full-out concrete until basically May. Until then we will just do rough-ins and in-fills. May will really get things going for us.”

Once again, we would like to thank Chris Hawkins for allowing us to pick his brain on the progress at B.streets, and we look forward to coming back in the near future to see how far his team at Bloor and Bathurst has come.
