Emerald Park: Construction Update

By Lucas on Dec 10, 2012

Bazis Inc. just posted their final construction update of 2012 for their highly anticipated Emerald Park development.

According to Bazis’ blog post, the P1 slab is complete, and it’s ramp up to ground level is 70% done. The ground floor of Tower B is decked, while the decking podium on the ground floor is 60% done. Also, on Tower A, the perimeter walls are 70% complete!

Bazis also states that another floor will be poured before Christmas, and once we are in the New Year, they’ll be up to the second floor.

Once Emerald Park is fully completed, there will be two towers, reaching 42 storeys. The design is certainly unlike anything the City of Toronto has ever seen. From the bottom of Emerald Park, the towers seem to be your typical modern-contemporary condos, but as your gaze rises, the towers flare out, creating a striking spectacle on the quickly developing North York skyline.

Emerald Park by Bazis Inc., Metropia, and Plaza is playing a significant role in the Yonge and Sheppard area’s transformation. There are 450 residential units at Emerald Park, and that will bring a heavy load of new residents to the neighbourhood - especially since the project has sold out!

With Emerald Park sold out, and Tridel’s Hullmark Centre on the opposite corner also sold out, Yonge and Sheppard is about to get very exciting! Expect new retailers and restaurants to be popping up for sure. Some people are already calling the Yonge and Sheppard area the “New Yonge and Eglinton.”

Although Emerald Park is completely sold out, there is still a large quantity of office space available. It’s great to see that not only residential units are available at Yonge and Sheppard, but office and retail, too. Soon it will be a true “work, live, play” neighbourhood.
