On August 18, Homes By DeSantis hosted the Summer Street Party in downtown Grimsby in support of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation. There was a great turnout, making the first annual event a huge success!
People started showing up on Main St. around 5 pm; there was music for the kids, high-end exotic cars on display, a delicious barbecue, ice cream, cotton candy, and a fun dunk tank! Many of the restaurant patios were packed, too, adding to the excitement.

At 7 pm, The Lonely Hearts took to the stage and played a fun set of classic and current hits. After their set, Mark Wood of Forty Public House got behind the mic, thanked everyone for attending and invited Aaron Nevo, VP of Public Affairs for Hamilton Health Sciences, to say a few words about how much this event is contributing to the community.
Alice Klamer, President of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, was next to speak, and she thanked the Homes By DeSantis team and all the volunteers who made the Summer Street Party possible.
“We are so proud to be part of a town with such outstanding good will,” says Gabriel DeSantis, President of Homes By DeSantis. “This cause is very important to us as healthcare is critical to a thriving, growing community. For this reason we are proud to make a $100,000 donation on behalf of our sponsors and the Homes By DeSantis team. The time has come! Let’s build a NEW hospital NOW!”
Grimsby MPP Sam Oosterhoff made the closing remarks, promising to continue his petitioning to the Minister of Health for a new hospital. The funds raised by the Summer Street Party will go a long way in supporting the development of a new facility, and will help prove that the region is in need and ready for a new hospital.

After all the speakers and the presentation of the big $100,000 cheque, The Reklaws stormed the stage and played an incredible set to cap off the evening.
Homes By DeSantis has a few communities in the works in Grimsby and they are building their new head office on Casablanca Blvd. One of the new communities is Century Condos, which will be located downtown Grimsby.
Clearly, the DeSantis family has deep roots in Grimsby and we’re happy to see them giving back while working to develop the town so more couples, families, and empty nesters can call the area home.
