Keesmaat Talks Toronto Suburbs

By Lucas on Apr 03, 2013

Over the past 50 years, the way we develop neighbourhoods has changed drastically. Now, density is a significant aspect of any area’s growth. With density comes infrastructure, and that opens up a whole new set of challenges to face.

Today, Toronto Chief Planner Jennifer Keesmaat held an open discussion with members of Toronto council and other parties about how to develop our suburbs. Development/density is pushing out into the 905 areas more and more, so it is now time to re-evaluate how the growth should happen.

Of course, during the discussion, many people took to Twitter to share some of the ideas being presented. Thanks to Storify, we were able to gather some of the highlights.

That was just a small snippet of a much bigger conversation that took place. To check out the entire three hour conversation, click here.
