Minto Westside in Toronto topping off soon!

By Newinhomes on Mar 14, 2018

One of Toronto’s most noticeable and exciting new condo developments is Minto Westside at Front and Bathurst. After a wild beginning to the year (weather wise), Minto has announced that construction is still on schedule!

Minto provided some beautiful aerial photos of the site. From the ground, the work being done is impressive, but these photos give a better impression of the great scale of the project. Tower 1 is expected to top off at the end of the month and Tower 2 will top off six weeks after that.

The cranes are currently hoisting forms, steel bundles and concrete to complete the structure. Once these materials have been hoisted, the cranes will begin hoisting the roofing and landscape materials.

Unlike most condos with landscaping on the ground floor, Minto Westside’s green areas are on the second and ninth floors. In order to make the roofing and landscaping process as smooth as possible, the construction team is moving much of the material to its respective floors.

If you’ve walked by Minto Westside recently, you may have noticed that the window trade is now on site! Window installation has moved up to the fourth floor (concrete work is on the 16th floor).

The construction team is now working with the window trade in order to have the exterior weather tight by the end of the year.

Over the next couple months, the permanent elevators will be installed and the drywall trade will appear on site to start the studwork and installation of interior walls. First occupancy is tentatively scheduled for early 2019.

One mystery surrounding the Minto Westside project is the current status of the north part of the site. As you’ll notice in the photos, Towers 1 and 2 are on the south side of the site, but the north side is being built up, too.

To our knowledge, these units haven’t been released for sale. If they have, then they sold without us even noticing, which we suppose wouldn’t be that surprising considering how well this condo sold over the past few years.

According to the Minto Westside website, there are two plans still available; 540 and 545 (named after their square footage). The 540 is a one-bedroom with a 70 square foot balcony. The 545 is a one-bedroom+den with a 30 square foot balcony.
