New home sales in Pickering and Bowmanville heat up during the summer

The latest report from Trimart Research Corporation announces that June 2016 was a very slow month for new low-rise sales in the Total Market Area (TMA). Compared to last year, sales in June dropped 38.5%. This is due to a significant decrease in inventory and the typical summer slowdown.

Toronto, Pickering, and Bowmanville still saw a decent amount of new low-rise sales, and even with the year-over-year decrease in sales, the Trimart annual forecast is still on track with 54.7% achieved.

Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:

Seaton Taunton in Pickering by Mattamy Homes Seaton Taunton by Mattamy Homes

Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Seaton Taunton, a new home community in Pickering by Mattamy Homes. With 107 sales last month, you’re going to have to wait until the next release of homes to purchase at Seaton Taunton. The homes that just sold were village homes, rear lane townhomes, and two-storey townhomes, ranging from 1,044 to 1,975 square feet.

The Crosswinds in Bowmanville by Delpark Homes The Crosswinds by Delpark Homes

Coming in second with 56 sales during opening month is The Crosswinds by Delpark Homes. This Bowmanville community features 45’ detached homes ranging from 1,673 to 3,378 square feet with prices starting from $609,990. With prices on the rise in the central Greater Toronto Area (GTA), many homebuyers are looking to the outskirts to make a new home purchase.

Greenfields in Alliston by FarSight Homes Greenfields by FarSight Homes

The third spot is taken by Greenfields, a new home community in Alliston by FarSight Homes. During the opening month, the community saw 43 sales. Greenfields features townhomes and 32’ and 40’ detached homes ranging from 1,239 to 2,619 square feet. Prices are starting from $339,900. This is another great example of homebuyers extending their search to just outside the GTA for their new home.

Modo in Bowmanville by Kaitlin Corporation Modo by Kaitlin Corporation

In the fourth spot, we have another Bowmanville community that celebrated a successful opening month. Kaitlin Corporation saw 36 sales at Modo last month. The community featured urban townhomes ranging from 553 to 983 square feet with prices starting from just $199,990. Homebuyers are looking to areas like Bowmanville and Pickering due to a wider home selection and more affordable prices.

Willow Glen in Tottenham by Brookfield Homes Willow Glen by Brookfield Homes

The final position on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by Willow Glen, a new home community in Tottenham by Brookfield Homes that had 28 sales last month. Willow Glen features a range of home types, including two-storey attached homes on 30’ lots, as well as 36’, 43’, and 50’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,540 to 3,630 square feet and there is a new release coming soon!
