New low-rise sales expected to stay steady leading into 2016

By Lucas on Oct 16, 2015

According to Trimart Research Corporation, more than 80% of their annual forecast of new low-rise sales has been achieved, and that’s not even including all of the September sales that took place. As we find ourselves at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2015, Trimart is predicting that the number of fall releases and openings across the Total Market Area will keep low-rise sales strong through the traditionally slow winter and holiday season.

Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:

Greenwich Village Logo - FINAL

Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Greenwich Village, a Pratt Homes community in Barrie that saw 22 sales last month. The community features urban townhomes ranging from 606 to 1,464 square feet, with prices starting as low as $180,900. This is a great opportunity for first-time buyers or current condo dwellers looking to upgrade to something slightly larger.

Coming in second is Friday Harbour, a resort style community in Innisfil by Geranium Homes. Recently, the large marina at the community officially opened and there was a big celebration, so we’re guessing that a lot of these 21 sales were generated by that newsworthy event. Friday Harbour features townhomes and condo units ranging from 433 to 4,601 square feet, with prices starting at $239,900. Many of the larger townhomes are situated on an island in the marina and come with a boat slip!

Placing third is Village of Southfields, a Caledon community by Mattamy Homes and Monarch that had 11 sales last month. The community features a wide range of home types, including townhomes, and 43’ and 50’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,630 to 3,971 square feet with prices starting at $430,990. Caledon is one of those areas that is gradually growing while all the builders in the area are being very cautious about maintaining the breathtaking natural surroundings that everyone loves about the town.

Summerlyn Village - via Great Gulf Summerlyn Village - via Great Gulf

With 10 sales last month, the fourth position is taken by Great Gulf’s Bradford community, Summerlyn Village. The community is temporarily sold out of the 36’ detached homes, but there are 40’ and 50’ lots available, with prices starting at $600,000. If you’re interested in a 36’ lot, stay tuned for a new release!

Westminster Highlands - via Reid's Heritage Homes Westminster Highlands - via Reid's Heritage Homes

Slipping into the final position on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Westminster Highlands, a Fergus community by Reid’s Heritage Homes. This community has the widest range of home options, including mid-rise condo units, bungalow townhomes, two-storey townhomes, as well as 38’, 42’, and 50’ detached homes. The homes range from 746 to 3,056 square feet with prices starting at just $192,400. Again, this is another great opportunity for first-time buyers!
