Only a few more days to check out Toronto of the Future!

Are you curious about what Toronto will look like in five years? How about 10 or 20 years? If so, you need to attend the free public event, Toronto of the Future.

This architectural exhibition and real estate showcase is co-hosted by the City of Toronto and Oxford Properties Group until June 30th at Metro Hall / MetroCentre.

This is the public’s opportunity to engage in city planning and urban infrastructure development outside the realm of a community meeting. The city’s top architects, contractors, developers, and government agencies will be in attendance, including the City Planning Division.

"Toronto is a leading city in the Western Hemisphere with respect to the unprecedented scale of urbanization, redevelopment and renewal we see today,” says Jennifer Keesmaat, Chief Planner, City Planning Division of the City of Toronto. “We expect this trend of rapid change to continue and as a result we need to continue to push our thinking with respect to what the city could become. As a result, the timing is excellent to present Toronto of the Future.”

The displays will feature 3D scale models, illustrations, renderings, and virtual presentations, showcasing projects in Toronto that are either under construction, approved, in planning, or envisioned. Whether you’re interested in residential development, commercial, institutional, or infrastructure, you’ll get a good glimpse of what’s in the works.

Browsing the Internet and simply strolling around Toronto reading development signs are effective ways of learning about Toronto’s growth, but this is a rare opportunity to absorb a good chunk of it all in one spot. The biennial event was a huge success in June 2015. Don’t miss this one or you’ll have to wait another two years!

Here are the exhibit hours for the remaining days:

June 28 : 9 am to 9 pm

June 29 : 9 am to 9 pm

June 30 : 9 am to 5 pm

To all the people who believe that Toronto is running out of space for new development, you have to visit Toronto of the Future to see how much growth is happening in the city as you’re reading this. Toronto’s population grows substantially every year, the economy is strong, and the real estate market is actually affordable compared to many other world class cities.

Metro Hall / MetroCentre is located at 55 John Street, between King and Wellington near the St. Andrew Subway Station.
