Park Vista in Whitby sells out in just one day!

By Newinhomes on May 28, 2019

April 2019 proved to be a busy month for the new home market, and based on the success that Fieldgate Homes and Paradise Developments saw at Park Vista in Whitby last weekend, it seems like May has been strong, too.

As part of the successful master-planned community, Whitby Meadows, Fieldgate and Paradise each released a collection of luxury semi-detached homes with traditional and contemporary elevation options.

We had a feeling that Park Vista was going to be a hit. When Whitby Meadows launched, it had one of the largest turnouts we’ve ever seen for a new home opening. What made Park Vista so attractive was the location, architectural style, and starting prices.

Park Vista is located in a convenient location, minutes from neighbourhood amenities you need on a daily basis, like schools, shopping, and grocery stores, but the community is also surrounded by lush natural landscape. There are 68 kilometers of recreational trails winding around the community, 127 playgrounds peppered around the neighbourhood, and more than 950 acres of protected parkland.

This may have also been one of the first times we saw traditional and contemporary options for a new single-family home in the Greater Toronto Area. The traditional models had classic brick home design features like peaked roofs and subtle stone detailing. The contemporary designs offered clean lines and large windows - more of a geometric look. The differences were subtle, but likely enticed a wider range of buyers given the style options.

The homes also had luxury interior features and finishes, including 9’ and 10’ ceilings, hardwood flooring, granite countertops, extended upper cabinets in the kitchen, free-standing soaker tubs in the elegant ensuites, and oak staircases.

The big draw was the starting price in the mid $500,000s. According to the Building Industry and Land Development Association’s latest new home market figures for April 2019, the average price of a new single-family home in the GTA was more than $1.1 million last month. A semi-detached home in an amazing location with luxury interior finishes is going to sell quickly when prices are hovering around $600,000.

With new condo units in the GTA averaging close to $760,000, we wouldn’t be surprised if some families saw Park Vista as an incredible opportunity to move-up.
