New Renderings for 1 Yonge St.

By Lucas on Mar 08, 2013

1 Yonge St. is an important address for us here at the Toronto Star's NewInHomes.com. We were one of the first to report that the massive parking lot was up for sale and to speculate about its future. We discussed the amount of towers, the amenities, the features, the heights, etc. Then, we eventually got a glimpse at an early rendering from Hariri Pontarini Architects.

Well, Pinnacle International and our friends over at Urban Toronto have posted a few new renderings of the 1 Yonge development.

According to an application filed with the City of Toronto, Pinnacle is seeking approval to develop a series of mixed-use towers. The plan calls for residential towers, a hotel, a new office building, and some green space.

At this point, no formal applications have been made in regards to height, but there are suggestions that Pinnacle is seeking approval to bring four buildings to the area, ranging in size from 70 to 90 storeys. The Toronto Star building would remain on site.

As you can see from the renderings (hat tip to Urban Toronto), this will be a pretty special project for Toronto. A development like this along the waterfront, rising right next to Pier 27 by Cityzen and Fernbrook, will definitely add a sleek look to Toronto’s skyline.

By no means is 1 Yonge ready to move forward, but so far, we are extremely excited for what Pinnacle and Hariri Pontarini have in store for the high-profile site.
