At a recent event at the Pantages hotel in Toronto, Skyline International celebrated a $10 million investment in updating several aspects of their Deerhurst Resort community in Muskoka. The event brought a taste of the north to downtown Toronto and showed everyone what Muskoka and Deerhurst have to offer.

The $10 million will be spent over the course of two years and go towards guest rooms, bathrooms, and amenity spaces. The Maple Pub and patio, Compass Lobby Bar, Legacy Hall, Splash Zone, and lakeside waterfront will also receive significant upgrades.

“Everything we have targeted with this (CAD) $10 million investment is a result of feedback we have been getting from our top client group,” explains Skyline International CEO Michael Sneyd. “We have been working on this for a while.”

“Deerhurst is an iconic brand that has been around for over 100 years and will be around for the next 100 years,” he adds. “We understand what this brand means to Muskoka and we want to raise people’s expectations of what a visit to Deerhurst can entail.”

The Pantages event was an interactive installation that gave party goers the chance to relax by the lake and enjoy a few s'mores, receive golf tips from Deerhurst’s resident pro Cody McDonald, and take part in the paddle board yoga challenge. Also, Deerhurst’s Executive Chef, David Bakker, attended and prepared a special menu showcasing the best of the resort’s cuisine.

“Deerhurst may be located in cottage-country, but it isn’t simply a cottage retreat,” says Raymond Zar, COO of Skyline International. “It’s a community that promotes activity. There is so much potential for outdoor adventure that goes beyond the dock or golf course and we wanted to bring some of that adventure to the city to show Torontonians what we’re all about.”

The $10 million investment is actually part of a $500 million master-plan for Deerhurst, which includes a new village centre overlooking the lake, as well as the Deerhurst Lakeside Golf Course. The first and last condo at Deerhurst, Lakeside Lodge, has also launched, giving lucky homebuyers the opportunity to own a piece of this incredible community in Muskoka.
