Streetcar Lights Up The Carnaby With The Cord

The Cord suite at The Carnaby is another example of what Streetcar Developments does so well — design modern loft layouts that functionally work, maximize light, and eliminate wasted space. As a corner unit, the two-bedroom, two bathroom suite offers spectacular panoramic views — from the living room, the balcony and both bedrooms.

The Cord has lots of storage, a master bedroom with walk-in closet and a dramatic corner bedroom with corner windows, two full bathrooms — one of which is the ensuite — and a living and dining space that is flooded with daylight and comes with great views of the city sunsets,” says Jeff Schnitter, principal at Toronto’s innovative Seven Haus Design.

Streetcar’s efficient use of the suite’s 710 square feet allows for a convenient entry vestibule that leads directly into the open plan living layout. The fully integrated kitchen leaves plenty of room for a full-size dining table and living room layout that could be arranged in several ways. “It’s a deliberately functional space,” Schnitter says. “The space is flooded with west-facing light and can be extended to the outside on the balcony which becomes an extension of the living area.” With a coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening, buyers can start and end each day with lots of fresh air.

The view from the corner bedroom makes it easy to imagine lying in bed, looking out over a beautiful sunset after a day at work. Both bedrooms’ sliding doors let you either open up the spaces or close them off for privacy without taking away usable square footage.

The Cord offers everything a purchaser could want in a plan, maximizing and using every square foot of its space. “Take a look at the plan and one thing you won’t see is any hallways,” says Schnitter. The space that would typically be used for hallways is given over to larger living spaces. “What would you rather have — a hallway or a second bathroom?”

Streetcar Developments has partnered with Design Republic and Seven Haus Design — for a limited time, when you purchase a loft at The Carnaby, they will design and furnish it for you! That means $10,000 worth of designer furniture for one-bedroom and one-bedroom with den lofts, and $16,000 worth for two-bedroom and two-bedroom with den lofts.

Widely recognized for offering modern designs, high-quality finishes, and a connection to their surroundings with projects like 8 Gladstone and The Carlaw, Streetcar Developments is putting a fresh spin on loft living in some of Toronto’s coolest neighbourhoods.
