Studio 2: NOW OPEN! Image

Studio 2: NOW OPEN!

By on Jan 27, 2012

Ever since the announcement of Studio on Richmond, we have been excited for phase two.  Back in August 2011, Aspen Ridge Homes teased us with a stack of renderings of Studio 2, and we have been waiting since then to write these words: NOW OPEN!!

Studio 2 Toronto Aspen Ridge Homes

Studio 2 is still in preconstruction, but it will be located right next to its smaller, yet older sibling at the corner of Richmond St. West and Duncan Street in the heart of the Entertainment District.  Designed by Quadrangle Architects, Studio 2 will rise to 41 storeys in a modern-contemporary fashion, featuring steel and glass facades with protruding balconies on select units.

The base of Studio 2 is actually very interesting.  There will be a row of townhomes, and the corner of Duncan will feature some new retail space, but the exciting part is that Aspen Ridge has set aside 8,000 square feet as designated gallery space for students attending the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD).  Studio 2’s access to some of the best bars and clubs that the city has to offer, its highly urban design, and its connection to students and art is a winning combination of all things Toronto. They are truly redefining what current downtown-living is all about.

The interior, designed my Mike Niven, is lavish and will give off an urban vibe that constantly reminds you that you are living in one of the best cities on the continent.  Judging by the renderings, the design of the interior seems to rely on a manipulation of geometric shapes and slight industrial accents, reflecting Toronto’s constantly developing cityscape.  Studio 2 will also feature an array of luxurious amenities, including a professionally equipped fitness centre, a yoga studio, a billiards room, and an expansive roof top terrace on the sixth floor that will be perfect for entertaining friends, socializing with neighbours, or just plain relaxing.

Studio 2 will consist of 425 units, ranging in sizes from 625-1,294 square feet.  The floor plans range from one-bedrooms to 2 bedrooms+den, ideal for singles and couples, and students and young professionals.  Some of the units’ features include European-style cabinetry, your choice of granite or CaesarStone countertops, ceramic backsplashes, 9’ceilings, and a balcony or terrace (depending on the unit).

If you work downtown, are planning on moving to the city, or enjoy Toronto’s night life (that sums up about everyone in the GTA), then you will love Studio on Richmond and its sister Studio 2.  The scheduled completion of the two towers is in 2014, but they are selling units right now!  Prices are starting as low as $240,000, so you better get a move on if you plan on snagging a unit before they are all taken!
