The Best of 2017: Looking back at this rollercoaster of a year

By Lucas DeClavasio on Dec 01, 2017

Can you believe it’s December? We feel like we say this every year, but the last 11 months just flew by. To pretend like 2018 isn’t right around the corner, we’ll be posting many special features highlighting some of the best of 2017!

We’ll have Mark Cullen, Canada’s gardening guru, share his best gardening tools of 2017 so you’re ready to start the season in 2018. Interior designer Jo-Ann Capelaci will highlight a few of the hottest design trends of the year, some of which may have some staying power for 2018, so no need to hit HomeSense yet.

2017 was also a record year for the new housing market in many respects, so we’ll be focusing on record high pricing, supply dips, and game changing policies and regulations. With an eventful year behind us, 2018 is shaping up to be an interesting one.

We can’t forget about the resale market, it had its ups and downs, too. The market heated up, then cooled, then heated up again. It was a rollercoaster ride. We’ll be highlighting a few of the milestones later this month!

In November, we shared many helpful winter tips for homeowners. Since winter doesn’t officially start until December 21st, we might sneak in a few more winter tips before the end of the year.

Of course, everyone’s getting excited about the holidays so there will also be some holiday themed posts mostly related to decorating. Yesterday, we actually posted a holiday themed story about tips for hosting a holiday event in your condo party room. Since Pemberton always has a beautiful party room and private dining area in their developments, we used their renderings for the post.

Well, here we go. Let’s make December a good month by remembering all the great things that happened this year in the industry!
