Vaughan sees new potential development

A new master planned community could be coming to Vaughan.

Vaughan new development

Plans have been submitted by Casertano Development Corporation and Sandra Mammone, to reshape an area that is prime for development.

The site in question is located along Jane Street and Bass Pro Road, just east of Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre.

The entire plan submitted to the city will see twelve high rise condominiums and four low rise commercial and retail buildings come to the area.

The twelve buildings will range from 26 - 40 storeys and will be connected through a series of podiums.

In total, the development will see 3,650 new residential units to the area and 9,611 sq. meters of new office space.

While Vaughan's official plan already calls for an increase of growth in the area, there are adjustments to be made for this new development to occur.

The current official plan allows for a maximum height of 12 storey buildings and much less density then the developer would require.

An amendment to the city of Vaughan's official plan will have to be made to allow the towers to move forward. The plan still sits with council.

We will have much more on this new development in the coming weeks.
